On September 13 and 14, the international conference titled Influence of Abiotic Stressors on Plant Traits 2023 was held at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources in cooperation with colleagues from the Institute of Forest Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. One of the main topics of the conference was the use of anti-stress substances for reducing the impact of stressors on plant production in agriculture and forestry. The conference featured six guest lecturers, including a presentation on changes in the onset of phenological phases of plants by Dr. Hájková from the Czech Hydrological Institute. In addition, eight lecturers and fourteen posters presented their contributions that focused not only on the use of plant stress reducing substances, but also on primary and secondary plant metabolism, reduction of plant production and changes in biodiversity within forest ecosystems. A total of sixty-six participants from Poland, Slovakia and Czechia attended the conference.
The participants felt welcome and appreciated the preparedness of the conference and the spirit of cooperation between the organizations involved. Furthermore, the CZU campus received great reviews, namely its connectedness between greenery and buildings.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to thank my colleagues from FAPPZ, Circle Hall and others for their helpfulness and assistance in the realization of this meeting.
