2. Admission Process
- Entrance exam date: August 22, 2024 (Alternative: August 26, 2024)
- We are moving the entrance examination to the 22nd of August, due to no electricity supply on the original planned day. Please contact us, if you have already arranged to come on the 21st or are not able to attend for other reasons.
- Format: In-person interview in English
- Topics: English proficiency, motivation, subject knowledge
Conduct and evaluation of the entrance examination:
On the day of the entrance examination, the applicant must present a valid official identity card (ID card, passport).
The duration of the entrance examination is 20-30 minutes.
The scoring of the entrance examination will be as follows: knowledge of the English language (maximum 30 points), motivation to study (maximum 20 points), knowledge and prerequisites necessary for studying the programme, in particular knowledge of biology and chemistry at secondary school level (50 points).

- I am an international student. Can I apply?
Yes, you can apply. You need to prove that you have finished the required level of education through
a) an officially certified copy of a document certifying the equivalence of foreign education - the so-called Nostrification

b) you request an assessment of your foreign education as part of the admissions procedure at CZU (internal evaluation of foreign education at CZU)

This link might help you to decide. - Are there any grade requirements from particular subjects that I need to fulfil during my secondary education to apply for a bachelor´s programme?
No, there are no grade requirements. You need to provide us with an authenticated secondary school leaving certificate and authenticated transcript of records from the last two years of study and pass the entrance examination. More information about the requirements are available here. - Application fee (750 CZK) – where and when can I find information about payment?
Instructions for payment will be displayed after the application has been created, personal details and address has been filled in and the e-application has been submitted at https://is.czu.cz/prihlaska. The status of the fee payment can also be monitored at the same We recommend paying through the online payment gateway. The fee is non-refundable at any stage of the admission procedure. - How much is the tuition fee and how to pay it?
Each programme has a different tuition fee, which has to be paid once a year before the enrolment into the study and higher year. Please find the annual tuition fees of each programme in Payment of tuition fee article on Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources (czu.cz).
Applicants can pay the tuition fee using the international payment platform: Convera GlobalPay for Students. - Are there any scholarship opportunities?
Our faculty offers merit scholarships to students who achieve excellent study results in the past academic year. Fully funded scholarships are offered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. More information here. - What do I need to bring to the entrance examination?
Valid photo ID (ID card, passport). More detailed instructions are given on the invitation to the entrance examination. Further information on entrance examination are available here (see Conditions of admission to bachelor´s / master´s study programmes in English). - In what form is the entrance examination planned?
The exam for our applicants will be in the form of an interview held in person or online focusing on the level of English, motivation to study and knowledge required for the study of the programme. The only exception is the Danube Master´s Agri-Food programme. More information about this programme is to be found here. - I am not able to attend the entrance exam on the set date. What can I do?
At the latest on the day of the set date, send a request for an alternative date for the entrance examination via email to iro@czu.cz - Is it necessary to authenticate my secondary school/bachelor’s/mastert’s diploma and transcript of records for the admission procedure?
Yes, these documents need to be correctly authenticated according to the country in which your documents were issued. For example, if they were issued in Spain a notarized copy suffices, if they were issued in India you need to have the documents apostilled, and if they were issued in Ghana the documents need to be superlegalised. You can find more information on how you should authorize your document here. - Where can I find the study plans (list of courses) for each year of study?
You can find the study plans of all the English/taught programmes on Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources (czu.cz). - Can I apply to more than one programme?
Yes, you can. The number of applications you submit is the number of times you pay the application fee. - Where do I find the academic year schedule?
You can find the academic year schedule in the Study Documents, in the section Academic Year Schedule.9. CZU dormitories General information and Virtual Tour - When can I start the recognition of my education through the internal evaluation process?
You can start working on the authentication of your documents straight away. However, you need to pass the entrance examination before you can apply for the internal evaluation of foreign education (recognition of education). - Do I need to send my academic documents to CZU by post, in hard copies?
We require your documents in hard copies delivered by post, DHL or a similar company. There is a partial exception for EU countries, United Kingdom, Iceland, Norway, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, see the article „Authentication of Documents“. - Do I need to send to CZU original documents or are copies sufficient?
Please do not post to us your original documents. We will not be able to give them back to you. We accept notarized copies of your academic documents instead. Plain copies cannot be accepted.
Do not forget that the notary stamp needs to be on every page containing any text or other stamps (such as apostille or superlegalisation stamp). More information. - Do I need to post to CZU my documents in my language??Or just English or Czech translations?
We require notarized copies of your documents in your language, firmly bound with the official translation by a sworn translator, so that no page can be substituted. The notaries or translators do so. The documents bound only with a stapler would not be accepted. More… - Who can translate my academic documents?
Only registered and authorized official sworn translators can translate your academic documents. Translations from unregistered translators neither translations agencies will not be accepted. All parts of your documents must be in English or translated into English (or Czech) – including the notaries’ and translators‘ clauses, stamps etc. - What is an eligibility statement?
The bachelord’s programme applicants should submit an eligibility statement from their secondary school, which states that their high school is accredited by an officially recognized body (town, municipality, state), if it is a private or public school and that their high school education makes them eligible to study a bachelor‘s programme in the country of their study. Template is provided by CZU. - How long will the internal evaluation take?
The process may take 2-8 weeks, especially with a high number of applications. This period should be counted from the moment, when the faculty or rectorate has all the required documents from the applicant and the evaluation fee is paid. - For how long is the internal evaluation of my documents valid?
As the internal evaluation procedure is a part of the admission process, the recognized documents are valid only for that specific programme in the particular academic year. If you want to study another programme or you want to study next year, you need to re-apply for the internal evaluation.
